Course Description
During this course students will study core units such as essential working practices in vehicle technology; vehicle electrical and electronic principles; engineering skills for vehicle repair. Specialist units are vehicle science and applied mathematics; vehicle component removal and refitting techniques; vehicle engine system principles; vehicle layout and operation of vehicle systems; vehicle fault diagnosis; principles and applications of vehicle electrical systems and components; motorsport vehicle inspection; stripping and rebuilding motorsport engines (pre-competition).

Assessment is based on practical workshop tasks which will be presented in portfolio.

Entry Requirements
Students will need either 2 GCSEs grade D or above, with Maths or English being an advantage or Level 1 Award in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (Light Vehicle Route).
