Course Description
With such a range of employment destinations, from airport management to management consultancy, the course is designed to cover a wide area of expertise while allowing appropriate specialisation; many of the lecture modules include case study project sessions and seminars may also be led by senior visitors from industry; airport planning and management students receive a subscription to the online news service 'Air Transport Intelligence'.

Assessment method
Modules: The course has 3 elements: taught modules, group project and a research thesis; the 7 modules are: air transport fundamentals; management fundamentals; quantitative and research methods; airport business management; airport strategic planning and the environment; airport design; airport operations and safety management; plus group project; research thesis: the research thesis is an opportunity to study a problem in detail, and sponsoring organisations may cooperate in the choice of a suitable subject; research thesis topics vary widely, for example: analysis of airport airside safety procedures; design parameters for a passenger terminal suitable for low-cost carriers; financial benchmarking of airport operators. Assessment Methods: Each module is assessed by an assignment and an examination; the mode of teaching includes a combination of lectures and workshops.
Entry Requirements
1st or 2nd Class UK Honours degree (or equivalent) in any discipline; a recognised professional qualification plus a number of years relevant working experience may be accepted as equivalent.
Venue Description
Accommodation may be available to those undertaking certain learning opportunities and the institution will provide details. Childcare facilities are available on site. Early booking of sessions is strongly recommended due to high demand of limited places. Guidance and advice may be available for all aspects of student life. Facilities/Support are available for students with learning difficulties.
