Venue Description
This College has over 550 PCs for students' use along with laptops, scanners, laserjet colour printers and CD writers. These are found in a variety of locations including the Learning Resource Centre and specialist classrooms. In the Learning Resource Centre there are 20 PCs all connected to the Internet, with a variety of other software packages. We have a fully working, brand new restaurant plus hair and beauty salons, all of which are open to the general public. The purpose built air-conditioned Music Facility consists of four sound-proofed rehearsal rooms containing drum kits, backline amplifiers and PA systems and there is a fully equipped recording studio with an acoustically designed live room and digital editing suite. There is plenty of free parking for students and easy access by public transport. Hot and cold meals are available during mornings and lunchtimes. The College has indoor and outdoor sports facilities including a well equipped sports hall and sporting activities include badminton, basketball, netball, volleyball, cricket, table tennis and unihoc. The Students Union helps and supports the students and arranges regular exciting external and fundraising activities. Assignment workshops are held in the learning resource centre morning and evening to support and help in completing assignments. There is a Registered Nursery for children of students between two and a half and five years of age who must be toilet trained. Deaf and hearing impaired students will get a Communication Support Worker from the College and there is a Teacher for the Deaf. Students with learning difficulties can receive special dyslexia and other support, and special examination arrangements can be made for disabled students. Students with physical disabilities can access all parts of the building via lifts, automatic doors and specialist facilities for wheelchair users.
