This programme is designed for graduates from relevant science subjects (for example biology, zoology, physical geography, Earth and environmental sciences) and professionals with substantial relevant experience. Its aim is to prepare you for a successful career in wildlife conservation and consultancy
Research supervision and training is available in the following areas: ecological agriculture; soils, plants and environment; integrated animal science; food and human nutrition; compulsory modules include: wildlife conservation: policy and practice; conservation biology issues; ecosystem management; ecological survey techniques; trees: growth, management and environmental impacts; field identification skills; environmental and habitat assessment field class; and a foundation module in quantitative techniques, experimental design and data analysis; candidates also choose countryside management or two optional modules that may include: sustainable development and environmental change; habitat mapping and resource assessment: using remote sensing; fisheries resource assessment and management; the environment business; environmental systems and modeling; GIS and remote sensing; environmental assessment: land and water resources and then candidates complete a research project.
