The programme is designed for midwives and others involved in maternity care; it has been developed in response to the complexities and challenges of national and international contemporary midwifery, and is offered to those who are keen to increase their knowledge and understanding of its complex nature; applicants are advised that this award does not constitute a professional qualification; content areas include: personal and professional philosophies of midwifery practice; critical evaluation of midwifery knowledge; and exploration of a number of aspects of midwifery.
