The course develops skills and knowledge to achieve the level of an advanced practitioner through a personalised work-based programme of learning; students establish an understanding and critical awareness of problems in professional practice, develop the capacity to combine practice and theory and use higher levels of discretion and judgement in decision making in their service delivery and leadership.
Foundations of advanced practice (4 x 5 credit modules); biological basis of disease and therapeutics (20 credits); clinical examination skills (20 credits); clinical diagnostics and decision making (20 credits); principles and concepts of research design; research dissertation (60 credits); plus options.
