Course Description
This new MSc programme meets the needs of recent developments in the global chemical industry through advancement of information technology (IT) and business management skills. It builds on the Department's established strengths in computer modelling, process systems engineering, numerical modelling, computational fluid dynamics, finite element modelling, process control and development of software for separation technologies, augmented by staff from other departments. The programme aims to: provide in-depth understanding of IT skills required for advanced chemical processes raise students' awareness of the global economy and strategic issues for engineering enterprises, together with basic concepts of management techniques applicable to running a production company, with emphasis on design activity.

Assessment method
Modules: Examination and/or coursework. Research project: dissertation and oral examination. The pass mark for credit in all cases is 50% and for the taught modules a 40% minimum performance level is required.
Entry Requirements
Honours degree in engineering or physical sciences: other academic or professional qualifications, supplemented by appropriate industrial experience, will be considered individually.
