Retail is a major sector of the national economy and offers many opportunities for career progression. As an Apprentice, you could find yourself working anywhere from market stalls and independent shops to national chains and large superstores. You may be involved in assisting customers in a high street store, or working in a specialist department that deals with a specific range of products. You could even go into visual merchandising and help with window displays or alternatively work behind the scenes in inventory and stock handling. You may also be exposed to management opportunities in all of these areas. The course is for anybody who has achieved their Apprenticeship in Retail Skills Level 2. You will study a range of Retail units selected by your line manager and assessor and the underpinning theory. You will be assessed by: Continuous assessment of practical, written and oral work the production of a portfolio of work. Online testing and assessments in the workplace.
