Apprentices learn on the job, building up knowledge, skills and gaining qualifications. Students will work towards: National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) which recognises their competence in the workplace an NVQ assessor is responsible for visiting the workplace to assist them in compiling a portfolio of evidence; technical certificate which demonstrates their technical knowledge and capability and provides underpinning knowledge to do their job; key skills in application of number and communication.
Students must be under the age of 25 and must have 4 GSCE grades A-C. They will also need to be employed within the sector.
