Accountants keep track of financial information and make sure that businesses manage their money effectively. As an apprentice in Accounting, you could work for almost any company; from small businesses to major international corporations. You’ll learn how to balance accounts, process invoices and payments, complete VAT returns, and help prepare financial statements and reports. Depending on where you work, you could be specialising in one area - like sales - or doing all these tasks as well as handling banking and petty cash. You will need a business brain and the ability to work with numbers but there are great rewards in this highly skilled field.
