About this course

In year 1, considerable emphasis is placed on the biomedical (anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, microbiology), social and psychological underpinnings of nursing practice; students have the opportunity to study how research is used in nursing practice and how epidemiological and public health data can influence health care services; year 2 has a greater emphasis on field specific studies; adult students study nursing intervention and evaluation, the basis of professional and ethical practice, altered pathology, applied pharmacology and health psychology; in year 3, students study medicine management and clinical decision making; dissertation is a key feature of year 3 and is a student generated study relevant to their developing practice.
