The Adult College provides a wide range of courses for the adult community at centres throughout Barking and Dagenham. We are commited to supporting every adult in Barking and Dagenham to further his or her learning through a vibrant and innovative service.
The College offers a friendly, mature environment and high-quality resources to over 5,000 learners. Our expert staff are on hand to support learners with their learning aims, whether a complete beginner or a more confident and experienced learner.
The Adult College is also able to work directly with employers to devise bespoke course programmes to meet the needs of individuals or teams and to ensure the long term competitiveness of your business.

What's on offer

We offer three main learning areas. Our Learning for Life courses are available to anyone over 16 years old, offering free Skills for Life programmes and low cost courses to help people without qualifications to progress into level two courses and gain a nationally recognised qualification.
The Learning for Work range of courses are open to individuals over 16 years old wishing to build skills and improve job prospects as well as to employers seeking to strengthen their workforces through training. We offer a wide range of vocational programmes; these recognised qualifications demonstrate learning and experience and will enhance your confidence in the workplace and in some cases enable you to set up as a sole practitioner.
Our Work-Based Learning section offers apprenticeship programmes for those looking to incorporate learning in the workplace and Entry to Employment programmes for 16-18 year olds
