This course is designed for students to provide a thorough grounding in acting in order to allow students to progress on to the acting BTEC level 3 extended diploma. They will develop acting and performance skills through a mixture of skills lessons and practical performance projects. Topics include: performing arts production process; the performing arts business; performing scripted plays; acting; devising plays; performing dance. It also includes opportunities for them to develop their English, Maths and/or ICT skills, as appropriate. They will be expected to complete key skills qualifications as part of their course.
Minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grades E or better or an equivalent level 1 qualification (eg BTEC or City & Guilds).
