The accounting theories, issues and skills module focuses on reviewing current topics in accounting and finance, which gives students an overview of developing fields of research; in addition to broadening their knowledge, this module also helps students to formulate their own research proposal; in research methods and methodologies, students learn the techniques of research, how to develop a research proposal,and how to review literature; the dissertation stage provides an opportunity to gain experience of conducting an extensive piece of research in an area of accounting or finance of particular interest; through their reading, data collection, statistical analysis and writing up students develop a detailed knowledge of their chosen topic.
