This degree programme, fully accredited by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) provides a solid grounding in four main themes, financial reporting, management accounting, financial management and computerised accounting systems; students develop a broad knowledge of business in the 1st year, taking an in-depth look at the many areas of accounting in years 2 and 3.
Year 1: Core modules; financial and management accounting; application of information technology; quantitative and research skills; the accountant in business; the economic environment; personal financial planning; ethics; corporate governance; business law. Year 2: Core modules; financial reporting; performance management and control; computerised accounting; auditing systems; auditing and assurance; finance and taxation. Year 3: Industrial placement. Year 4: Core modules: advanced financial reporting; strategic performance management; plus options from: global governance; risk and ethics; financial management; cases in auditing; international taxation.
