This course is for students who are interested in becoming a nurse, midwife or social worker or entering another health service profession. It is especially relevant to current priorities in the delivery of health and welfare services. Students must acquire a minimum of 45 credits at level 3: health promotion, sociology of health, professional skills, applied human biology, biology, English language, quantitative methods and psychological aspects of health.
Students must have GCSE's at C grade or above or a Level 2 Progression Certificate in Health and Care, vocational experience (e.g. employment, work experience or volunteering) is also now crucial to future progressions to HE. If English is not their first language they will need an IELTS score of 5.5. They are required to attend an interview.
