Course Description
This course is aimed at mature participants with vocational experience, who already have a range of qualifications at level 2 and or above and need to top up with a further qualification in order to gain entry to University. They need to have some basic IT skills (word processing, e-mailing and use of the internet). They will study one Access module, choosing from a range of level 3 modules in order to accumulate enough credits for an Access Diploma or to provide evidence of recent academic study. Their weekly Study Skills session will help them to learn how to learn more efficiently and how to produce their work professionally, so that they will be prepared for their course at university. Previous Access participants have been accepted onto a huge variety of degree courses, including medicine, nursing, teaching, biochemistry, accountancy, social work, mathematics, psychology, sociology and oceanography.
