This MSc programme is designed to equip students with an advanced understanding of issues relating to the theory and practice of psychology in health care settings; it aims to provide students with a detailed theoretical grounding about the nature of major psychological and psychiatric disorders, as well as some neuropsychological conditions, and to improve their specialist knowledge base in an attempt to prepare them for work as a professional psychologist; the programme does not directly equip students to become practicing clinical psychologists but should improve their knowledge-based portfolio in a way that should promote their suitability for future clinical training.
