"I left school with four standard grades and no thoughts of going to college, far less university. Now, at 33, I’ve gained both a HNC Social Care, a HND in Social Sciences and am currently studying social work at university. Thanks to my HND, I was able to gain entry into my second year.

When I decided to come back to College I thought I was going to be the oldest in the class but there were lots of others just like me and I soon made friends of all ages.

The staff were really supportive, encouraging me to finish my course to prove to myself that I could do it; this wasn’t always easy with two children at home. My advice to anyone thinking of going back to college is this - it’s never too late to achieve your goals, never give up and believe in yourself."
