This course is for anyone with an interest in film and a desire to study theoretical and practical aspects of this medium. It focuses upon British and American cinema, incorporating topics such as genre, narrative, cinematography and a focus upon a specific era of British cinema. The A2 Level concentrates the students attention upon World cinema and will focus on European cinema as an alternative to Hollywood. A ‘close-study’ of a chosen film will be undertaken during this time and again, two pieces of coursework will be required. The A2 coursework will focus upon a small-scale research project and a screenplay. They can progress to higher education.
Students must have five GCSEs at grade C or above, including Maths and English Language.
