This course is for students with a keen interest in physical science, who wish to follow a career path in medicine, pharmaceuticals or veterinary science or who wish to take a science degree at university. The specification studied focuses on the applied use of chemistry and requires them to become competent in a wide range of practical techniques. They can progress to higher education, studying a BSc or MSc course that might be in the science, medicine or veterinary science.
Students must have standard entry to sixth-form science Pathway but must have a minimum double B-grade in Science or a B-grade in GCSE Chemistry. They must also have a B-grade or higher in GCSE Mathematics.
