About this course

You will need to internally verify candidates work from two assessors. You will need to have gained your assessor qualification D32/33 or A1/A2, and have at least 1 year s occupational competence. You will need to prove your Continuing Professional Development twice a year. We will allocate you a V1 qualified assessor to work with you on a one-to-one basis, to guide you through the evidence you need to prove your competency with internal verification. One-to-one meetings with your assessor are usually held at the College at a day and time convenient to you. However, reviews may be arranged in the workplace. These reviews are usually at 3 to 4 weekly intervals, for about an hour, but there is some flexibility in allowing for more frequent visits. You will be observed giving feedback to your assessor following their assessment. The qualification is a City and Guilds Verifier qualification comprising of 4 elements: Carrying out and evaluating internal assessment and quality assurance Supporting assessors Monitoring quality of assessor s performance Meeting external quality requirements You will build a portfolio of evidence supporting the internal verification that you have carried out with your assessors. You will need a minimum of 2 assessors that you will be able to support. You will create a development plan with them and provide them with guidance. You will need to internally verify through observing assessor performance and feedback, and candidate s work. You will attend a 2 hour induction which will involve clarifying the role of the internal verifier. You will receive a pack with standards, proforma documents and detailed guidance to enable you to put your portfolio together and to get started immediately. After enrolment, you will be allocated your assessor to work with you on a one to one basis. You will develop a good knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the verification requirements for the V1 and how to provide feedback and authentication and validation of evidence. Feedback from the assessor will also provide an integral learning mechanism.
