44 Portland Place offers more than courses for men and women; it is also home to a club for women - the YWCA Central Club - with a members’ lounge, café, a gym and health club. It aims to be a great place to spend time, throughout the year.

Central Club is a charitable membership organisation which aims to make a difference to the lives of women living in London. As well as providing a safe, comfortable, and relaxed environment, a programme of events (such as Book Club and Networking evenings) is organised where members can meet up with friends and colleagues.

People with limited mobility: Bell to call for assistance, portable ramp providing access to ground floor. Café fully accessible by wheelchair. A lift serves the basement to the third floor. Although too small to accommodate a standard sized wheelchair, one which fits into the lift is available (walking frame also available). Toilets for people with limited mobility are in the basement. IT studio: choice of computer mouse (joystick, tracker ball, etc.) and access software.

People who are deaf or hard of hearing: Two key staff members are proficient sign language users. The Club has good quality hearing loop systems.

People who are blind or visually impaired: Areas are well-lit and additional lights are available. Course leaders have access to a photocopier which enlarges for teaching material preparation. Tape recorders available to record lessons. Course Guide available in large print and audio versions. 'Talking lift' with tactile buttons. Those assisting people with disabilities may attend events and courses free of charge.
