Course Description
This programme deals with the widest possible research into 3D design. The areas of three-dimensional work literally touch on all aspects of design. The MA is a degree, which enables a design graduate or a professional, to develop and research a design thesis, which is both practical and supported by written research, developing at a higher level. Uniquely, this University has a group of advanced specialised subjects and technology, not duplicated elsewhere. The Design team includes Architectural, Product, Industrial Design, Silversmith, Media, Electronic Media, Animation, Illustration and Graphic Design tutors. The wider Arts Scheme allows access to advanced technology Water Jet Cutting at the Glass Centre, also part of the University. CAD milling is available and Laser cutting is due to be installed in the 3D area. Students may be able to exit the course, at appropriate stages & be awarded the lesser qualifications of Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma (PgCert/Dip).
Course Fees
Standard £3850 full time; £200 part time per 10 credit module.

Entry Requirements
Applicants will normally hold a good honours degree in model making, or a related discipline such as product or industrial design. Practising professionals with vocational, rather than academic, experience may be considered. All applicants are expected to present a portfolio of appropriate creative work at interview. The Design Studies MA denotes a combination of disciplines, from: Electronic Media and Design, which will support virtual 3D; Illustration and Design, which will support 2D software; Or the current 3D aspect 3D Design Innovation.
Venue Description
Childcare facilities are available on site. Early booking of sessions is strongly recommended due to high demand of limited places. Guidance and advice may be available for all aspects of student life. Facilities/Support are available for students with hearing impairment.
