Course Description
This is a broad-based design course which allows students to explore and develop design skills, principles and specialist interests. The second year has projects linked to partner universities, allowing students to follow their own design interests with a view to progressing to their chosen field. It covers: Drawing and illustration; Textiles and surface design; Interior design; Display graphics; Visual communication; Computer imaging; Typography; Advertising; Historical and contextual understanding.
Entry Requirements
4 GCSE passes (A-C grade) in relevant subjects; or an appropriate BTEC First Diploma; or an appropriate GNVQ Intermediate (merit grade). A portfolio of recent art and design work.
