  • The Football Association (FA) is the governing body of one of England’s most popular sports. Formed in 1863, the FA aims to encourage people from all backgrounds to consider taking up football and to ensure that they have access to opportunities within the sport. The FA acts as a link between professional and amateur football, organising competitions and tournaments at both levels. The qualifications they offer are in subjects related to the game, such as football coaching and sports first aid. The Football Association is also involved in creating rules, ensuring they are obeyed and disciplining those that break them.
