Undergraduate Student Story: Early Years/English Literature Why study Undergraduate English Literature

You might have some idea as to whether or not you’re going to university. But what’s it really like being a student?  Hotcourses asks Kirsty, who is taking a degree in Early Years/English literature, to fill us in on her experience.

Name: Kirsty Macdonnell
Course: Advanced Study of Early Years/English Literature
Institution: Liverpool Hope University

‘I decided to go to university to further my education and broaden my knowledge, meet new people and study something that interested me. University also provides a greater choice of job options and higher paid jobs with a degree.

‘I expected tons of work but it hasn’t been like that. Although there have been times when I have had a lot of work to do, the tutors have also been there as a great support for me. You are given a huge amount of freedom, but with the knowledge that tutors are around if you need their help.

‘I’d definitely advise people to go to uni as it’s a great experience: you meet a lot of new and really good friends, and it allows you to provide yourself with the opportunity to go into a well paid job that interests you.’
