Everyone loves a bargain. What we all love more though, is something for free. There are quite a few free courses available, and you’d be surprised at the subjects that come up. We’ve scoured the listings to bring you our top ten free courses. You could learn law for free, improve your IT skills for free, or even learn to pole dance...all for free! The free courses we’ve found are weird, wonderful and guaranteed to be a lot of fun.
1. Pitman Training in Luton offers a free Legal Secretarial Diploma taster course. You’ll be taught basic legal knowledge and, who knows, it could be the start of a new career in law.
2. Learn how to fill the back pages of the papers, at the News Associates Free Introduction to Sports Journalism Workshop. You could take the course in London or Manchester.
3. Calling all movers and shakers! The Workers Educational Association in Surrey is holding free dance classes. Choose from ballet, Bollywood, rock ‘n’ roll or salsa.
4. For all those that have an ear for a good tune and would love to know how to make their own music, check out Manchester Midi School’s Free Music Production Taster Course.
5. It would be rude not to try Rock ‘N’ Roll Pole’s free pole dancing classes in London. After all, it’s very good exercise!
6. If you’re a busy as a bee, a free one-day introductory course in beekeeping with Beecome in London shouldn’t take too much time out of your schedule.
7. Bookworms, listen up! Kent Adult Education Service is putting on free literature taster classes called ‘Reading the Century’, which focus on twentieth century literature.
8. If you’re a total technophobe, Make Change Associates Ltd in Redbridge might just be able to help, with their free IT for beginners courses.
9. Good with numbers? We’ve found another course from Pitman Training in Luton offering free Accounting Technician Diploma tasters.
10. If bins are your thing, take the free Certificate in Sustainable Waste Management Course at Hackney Wick Community Training Centre and study the waste management industry.
