Why choose an Australian education?
Famous for its vast natural beauty, untouched beaches, and friendly, sports-loving locals, Australia has plenty to offer an overseas student. It's a young, exciting and vibrant country, frequently listed as one of the top five places to live in the world.
Australia is as diverse as it is wide. From the sweeping white-sand beaches of the west coast, to the gorges of Kakadu National Park, the expansive sunsets of the Red Centre, to the iconic sails of the Sydney Opera House, there's so much to see and do.
Australia offers more than natural beauty – although it has plenty of that – its cities are rich in culture, with an international population and plenty of diversity. Cities like Sydney are packed with museums, art galleries, plentiful cafes and restaurant from around the world.
Australian universities are well-known for high-quality research and teaching with many students opting to study there. Aussies are a warm, laid-back and friendly bunch and international students usually find it easy to feel at home and make friends. Oh yes, and there are miles and miles of pristine beaches, even in the big university cities like Sydney. We did mention the beaches, didn’t we?
Student Story
Tom O’Donnell, UK
‘I visited the East Coast of Australia about three years ago on holiday and the place really resonated with me. When it was time to choose a university, I thought long and hard about studying in the UK before finally applying to an Australian university. I’m not near my family for a few years, but they’ve all flown to Melbourne to see me and life as a student here is fantastic! The uni system is quite similar to the UK and I’m loving my degree. I’ve made lots of friends and I think I’ve got great career options, along with a better climate and lifestyle here in Aus – I’m really delighted I came.’
