Beauty therapy courses cover a range of disciplines for students wishing to observe best practice in the beauty industry. Programmes will include study modules in reception duties, commercial salon awareness, manicure/pedicure techniques, and health and safety. Introductory courses, which are typically part time, will usually focus on one particular specialism, such as, nail services, waxing, threading or even make-up techniques. Few formal qualifications are required, but, usually, four GCSEs at grades D and above are required.
