Business Development and Innovation PgDip: The development of organisations through innovation is a primary driver in todays complex environment; the logic is simple if we dont change what we offer and how it is created and delivered we risk being overtaken by those who do; this innovation imperative is widely acknowledged by governments globally and high performance organizations in all sectors of the economy; although innovation is increasingly seen as a powerful way to gain or sustain advantage it is often viewed as highly challenging for both the organisation and individuals; this course will address this challenge with a focus on business development through innovation; the course gives business managers, and those who aspire to these roles, the tool and techniques to innovate, develop and succeed with an emphasis on; planning new strategies, exploiting opportunities, leading change and successfully managing business growth or organisational development.
The course consists of 8 modules in the following fields: strategy; creativity; innovation; entrepreneurship; organisations; competitiveness; enterprise; marketing; plus a dissertation project.
Managers should normally have a degree in any discipline or an equivalent accounting/professional qualification, and have at least 3 years work experience; they should also be in a position to influence business development through organisational change, market opportunities or technological exploitation; managers who do not meet these requirements but have exceptional determination, experience and/or alternative qualifications are welcome to discuss their needs with the programme director.
