'Fabulous courses: screenprinting, etching, textile screen printing, linocut & lithography in our gorgeous studio in SE18 right on the River Thames!'
Formerly known as Thames Barrier Print Studio, we're based right on the South bank of the River down by the Thames Barrier. We're available for experienced printmakers and anyone wanting to learn: we’re all about print.
As part of Thames-Side Studios we offer exceptional facilities and services in a spacious and buzzy environment. We opened in late 2011 and have all the facilities you need to practice screenprinting, etching, linocut, offset litho, letterpress and textile printing.
If you have always wanted to get all printy our courses will take you through the steps and get you up to speed to work away in our studio as a member afterwards if you wish. You'll get the bug for sure! Our courses are ideal as refreshers too.
Our tutors are all super-skilled practicing artist printmakers in their own right with many years of teaching under their belts.
Our day courses run from 10am-5pm and include materials and lunch. So all you have to bring along are some ideas and images as source materials and you are in for a fun and informative day.
Currently Thames-Side Print Studio has an average five star Hotcourses rating for our courses so give us a try and come along and get printing!

An excellent introduction to photo lithography and very well handled by Charmaine. The facilities are excellent too.
Really enjoyed the course, this was my first time doing etching, Nick was fantastic at explaining the process and sharing secrets he has discovered practising etching in the past 30 years, I am really excited about etching and hopefully will become a member at Thames Barrier Print studio, defenetly would recommend this course, good value for the price.
Booked this full day course, taught by Charmaine. It was lovely session, Charmaine a great teacher. Really friendly relaxed atmosphere, thoroughly enjoyed!
I had the best day and am still buzzing! Barton Hargreaves took us right though the whole process, from preparing out artwork to creating a short run of finished prints, and I can't wait to go back. Fabulous studio overlooking the Thames, great equipment, and very knowledgeable, encouraging tutor in Barton. Loved it.
A great beginners guide to the world of etching. Nick is a fantastic tutor and we left with a much more rounded view of the art form. From discovering how different techniques suit different artistic styles to a basic grounding in some of the chemicals and tools involved. I have wanted to try etching for years but always put it off believing it was too difficult and too late to learn. Nick's enthusiasm and guidance during the day has given me the confidence to try more. And the studios are great too - such good facilities, lunch was fab and you have a lovely view of the Thames.
