Looking forward to seeing you at PROCAT -The UK’s First College of Advanced Technology

Transformed by nearly £2 million of investment in new industry standard equipment and technology, PROCAT is proud to be training the next generation of aspiring engineers and technicians, as well as offering up-skilling training for a wide range of job roles.  Such trainingis forming the backbone of the UK’s construction and engineering industries. The transformation has seen installation of a whole host of new specialist, technical equipment, including robotics, 3D printing, CAD/CAM, 3&5 axis CNC machines and hydraulic systems as part of the redesign of the training centre in Basildon, Essex.

Rated “Good with Outstanding Features” by Ofsted (Jan 2014), inspectors have commended the college for its high pass rates, excellent technical training and high numbers of young people who are helped to gain employment and apprenticeships with local and national employers.According to the report

  • ‘Learners receive excellent support to achieve their potential’
  • ‘Students develop excellent skills and the standard of apprentices' work is very high’
  • ‘Excellent pastoral support’
  • ‘Teaching and learning are consistently good’
  • ‘Success rates are high’
  • ‘Promotion of health & safety is outstanding’
  • ‘Planning of the curriculum is very good’

The trend continues, with 100% pass rates for engineering apprenticeships in 2014/15.

Continued professional development

Whether an individual is progressing straight from an apprenticeship or is mid-career, PROCAT provides flexible work-based training courses that lead to recognised qualifications, including Higher National Certificates and Diplomas. PROCAT’s own specialist training courses up-skill employees and help create an agile, multi-disciplined workforce. Up-skilling in technical disciplines includes areas such as electronics, robotics, fibre optics, programmable logic controlling and 3D CAD CAM.

We offer flexible options to suit your training needs in full- or part-time programmes, day-time or evening classes.

Health and safety & occupational licences

Given that health and safety is paramount to the employers we work with, we deliver a range of industry specific health and safety courses including IOSH, NEBOSH and CCNSG. We also deliver training for occupational licences in areas such as CompEx, 17th Edition, F-Gas and B1 Licences.

Bespoke Training

Whilst we do offer a lot of accredited qualifications, we are able to offer training on-demand and design bespoke training courses which fit your particular needs. This is especially the case in subject areas like mechanical craft multi-skilling, electrical, component soldering and hydraulics, but can also occur when team leading, management and leadership or improving communication skills  is the aim of the training scheme. Bespoke training addresses a specific need or problem you have identified, but do not have the capacity to deal with internally in your organisation. Training can be delivered at PROCAT or on-site to suit your needs.
