John Ruskin College is a small, friendly, outstanding, vocational Sixth Form College, situated in the South of Croydon close to the border with Bromley.
It offer vocational courses in Applied Science; Business & Business Management; Creative Industries; which incorporates Art, Media, Graphic Design and Photography; Children’s Care Learning & Development; Health & Social Care; ESOL; Hair & Beauty & Barbering and Sport. Recent new courses include the introduction of specialised A Level pathways in Medical Sciences, Technology & Engineering,Political Sciences, Social Sciences,Entrepreneurialism and journalism and film, as well as a vast range of Apprenticeships .
The College has high quality industry standard facilities which complement its curriculum offer which include our state-of-the-art Digital Media Suite, Hair, Barbering, Beauty and Spa Salons. The Health, Care and Early Years Department also boasts interactive learning spaces which include a replicated hospital environment and a superb nursery facility. We also offer a competition standard sports hall and fitness gym. The 13 acre site includes a well maintained football pitch and outdoor relaxation areas.
Recent developments in our facilities feature a brand new Student Services Lounge which provides a one stop service to further enrich the student experience. The area also includes a new Common Room which offers an independent space for recreation and networking, as well as a Careers Advice Centre, making it a truly inclusive experience. A broadcasting and professional photography studio has recently been introduced. This is a very exciting resource, especially for students studying courses relating to Media, Film, TV, and Photography. Our very latest development is our state of the Art learning zone which provides tremendous additional support for our students.
my GCSE grades were not great at all. had one c and below. John Ruskin college gave me chance and confidence to prove that iam capable to achieve higher grades. so now iam off to imperial university!!!!!!
Just in my last year of a two year course, have learnt so much. Really helped me to choose a career and how to get there. Great teachers and lots of support!
