In this course basic drawing skills through to watercolour are taught. Students practise drawing in a number of media including charcoal, pencils and pen and ink. Basic techniques are clearly demonstrated and the student may build on these by following clear demonstration before engaging with their own images. Still life is taught as it is a great way to study the three dimensional nature of objects. Later on students may progress to more ambitious subjects using the many tips and techniques they have learned. An introduction to watercolour is also taught and students are encouraged to combine media and develop their own distinct styles in a fun and supportive environment.
Veronica's method of teaching enables both experienced and budding watercolour artists to engage with the subject in a relaxed and pleasant setting. Basic techniques for drawing are clearly demonstrated together with tips and techniques to get you painting with finesse and flourish. Subjects include the painting of fruit and flowers, landscapes including water , rocks and pebbles and many other subjects. All are clearly demonstrated and supported with excellent factsheets wherever possible. Drybrush, wet in wet and sponging and masking out are all covered as well. Throughout the course we look at the best way of representing a subject incorporating the style in which the student wants to paint in. Both splashy bold effects ad meticulous detail are encouraged in the fair and equal support of all students to achieve the best possible outcome and results in achieving great paintings. Veronica is an experienced lecturer and is a professional artist and writer. www. veronicaspaintbox.com
