Julia has worked in the secretarial field since leaving college, working up from a junior team secretary to PA to Deputy Director of Nursing. She is passionate about helping Bob to teach as many key staff as possible to learn BSL for effective and smoother communication with Deaf people.
Bob is a great teacher, I learnt a lot and my BSL significantly improved. I wish I could afford level 3! I learnt more practicing BSL and Bob watching the conversations really helped when I got stuck or didn't know a sign that I wanted to use.
Bob has been a fantastic teacher! He has helped me become confident in sign language over the last ten months. I had never signed before attending his first lesson. Now I have the confidence me to attempt a conversation in sign! Bob has always been on hand to offer help and advice - this has been greatly appreciated! All in all, I think Bob is a great teacher and I'm sad that our lessons are over! Thank you Bob!
I found him very good and enjoyed the amount of the course I was able to afford.
The course was well structured and it was clear what was expected of us throughout. Bob was very friendly and encouraging and kept the lessons at a good pace, checking that we understood as we went along. Also the lessons were varied with activities to help us practice. Bob made it clear what each of the exams involved and gave us good support to prepare for them. Overall BSL Level 1 was very enjoyable.
I enjoyed level 2 with Bob - I liked the fact that he talked about stories and things that had happened in his life - this us to have a conversation with him relating to everyday events apart from learning about all the different signs relating to different animals/items/places etc. Bob was a great help and very supportive throughout the whole time I was on his course and another student who joined our class for a short period mentioned how Bob was so much better a teacher than the course she was currently on - she felt we were very lucky to have someone who was so supportive.
