The Academy of Music and Sound offer contemporary music education & training across the UK. We focus on helping our students create sustainable careers in music. Our qualifications are delivered by working musicians and industry professionals to give our students access to the modern industry. Our seven locations across the UK offer a great choice to potential students. You can stay close to home or go further afield to study. Each location has access to a vibrant local music industry and nationally, we have a fantastic network, allowing students the freedom to study in more than one location during their time with us. The teaching staff in each centre can quickly integrate students into the local scene, using their own contacts to help students develop a strong network. Former student Tristan Evans hit the big time with his band The Vamps. Their debut single "Can We Dance", reached number two in UK Singles Chart and they have recently completed a world tour. Swindon student Josh Kumra co-wrote and provided vocals for rapper Wretch 32's no1 single "Don't Go". Josh now writes with a variety of artists and tours the UK in his own right.
Each of our centres run a series of open days, open evenings, taster days and gigs which are open to anyone interested in studying with us. At any of our events, you will be able to find out what it’s like to study with us and why you should start your career with us. Our friendly staff are always on hand to answer questions and to show you around. These events run throughout the year and the best way to find out about them is to contact your local centre. Fees & funding
Free to access to 16-18 year olds, if you haven’t already completed the same level course. There are costs for students aged 19 and up, which vary depending on a student’s circumstances.
England: A tuition fee loan is paid directly to the institution. You can apply for up £6000 to cover tuition fees. You may have to give details of your income when applying for a maintenance loan.
Scotland: Students can access tuition fee funding up to value of £1205 with SAAS. Eligible students will be able to apply for living cost support.

How to enrol
To apply to any of our courses, you should first contact the centre you wish to study at. The staff in the centre will arrange a time for you to come in for an audtion/interview and will help you with your application from there.
