What does a Sports Coach do?

Sports coaches work with people with a wide range of sporting ability, from absolute beginners to top international professionals, in both individual and team sports.

Most coaches are volunteers, and coach alongside another full-time job. Only a few coach full- time.

Coaches organise and run structured training sessions to enable people to learn the skills to participate in their chosen sport safely and to their full potential. For team sports, they also need to develop players into an effective team.
